Feeling Good About Yourself
Step 1. Questions
When you look in the mirror what do you see? You will see your face, eyes, smile, and hair. Is this what makes you – you? Not really. The things we see in the mirror are our physical features. They make us unique individuals. What is it that gives you a sense of well-being, confidence, and joy? It is your self-concept or simply what you think about yourself. You can begin feeling good about yourself by taking care of your body. The way you take care of yourself says a lot about the way you feel about yourself. It also helps you stay healthy.
For this e-journal activity you will explore different ways to take care of your body. Here are some questions to help you along the way.
- How does a healthy body affect the way a person feels about themselves?
- What are some different ways in which you can care for your body?
- Why is personal hygiene important?
- What are some tips for great grooming?
The first step in your exploration is to visit the Web sites listed in Step 2 and research the answers to these questions. Take notes in the note-taking boxes. You may also find other Web sites or research self-concept in encyclopedias and other references at the library.
Then, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your report.
Step 2. Research
Research answers for the questions you were asked in Step 1. Visit these Web sites. Take notes about them on this page, too!
