Men, Women, and Body Fat

Step 1. Questions

It is an interesting fact that people who are physically fit can weigh more than someone who is not physically fit. How can that be? There is a difference between muscle tissue and body fat. People who are very athletic and have large muscles may weigh a lot, but since muscle weighs more than body fat, they are not overweight. There are also differences in body make-up between boys and girls. Girls tend to have more body fat, while boys tend to have a lower percent of body fat and higher amounts of lean tissue.

This e-journal project is your chance to discover more about the relationship between physical fitness, body make-up, and the differences between boys and girls. Here are some questions to start you on your way.
