Dealing with Grief

Step 1. Questions

Everyone has different emotions, such as joy, sadness, happiness, anger, and grief. Grief is the emotion felt when there is a loss. It may be a loss through death. It may even be the loss of a friend who has moved far away. People often feel grief after the loss of a pet. Although it may feel painful at times, grief is not a bad thing. It is a time to heal and adjust to changes. What is the process that people go through when they grieve? How can people deal with grief in a healthful way?

This e-journal project will focus on grief and ways to deal with it. Use the following questions to guide your research:
  • What is grief? Find some examples of what causes grief.

  • What are some steps in the grieving process?

  • How do people deal with grief? Research tips that people can use to get through difficult times.

  • What other questions do you have about grief?
First, visit the Web sites listed in Step 2 to research the answers to these questions. Take notes in the note-taking boxes. You may also visit other approved Web sites, or research grief in encyclopedias and other resources at the library.

Then, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your report.

Step 2. Research

Research answers for the questions you were asked in Step 1. Visit these Web sites. Take notes about them on this page, too!
