Treating Asthma

Step 1. Questions

Asthma is a very common chronic lung condition. It affects millions of people in the United States and people around the world.

For this e-Journal project, you will research and report on asthma. Here are some questions to guide your research.
  • What is asthma? What are some causes and symptoms of asthma?
  • How can people who have asthma manage the condition?
  • If someone you know is trying to manage asthma, what can you do to help?
  • What support is available for people who are trying to manage asthma?
  • What other questions do you have about asthma?
As you visit the Web sites listed in Step 2, take notes in the note-taking boxes. You may also use search engines to find other Web sites. You can also research asthma at the library. You may also want to interview a physician, nurse, or other health-care professional. Another option is to discuss asthma with an asthma patient.

When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your report.

Step 2. Research

Research answers for the questions you were asked in Step 1. Visit these Web sites. Take notes about them on this page, too!
