  1. On the left navigation bar choose the Diet and Eating Habits link. Read the information under the headings "Food Preferences and Resources" and "Food Intake." How does a whale get its food? What are some examples of animals that have been found in the stomach of a killer whale?

  2. Read "Methods of Collecting Food." Give an example of one of the different ways a killer whale hunts for its food.

  3. Read the information about Toothed whales and Baleen whales, including the food chain diagrams. What is the difference in diet of the two types of whales? What is the difference each whale’s food chain?

  2. Find the heading for "Arctic and Antarctica." Select a whale from the list and click on its name. Read the fact sheet to learn about the endangered whale. On a piece of paper, write the name of the whale, a description of the whale, the whale’s history, the whales diet, and why it has become threatened.
