About the Site

Sunnyland Projects is a page from the Web site for Sunnyland Elementary School located in Bellingham, Washington. The site describes four community projects: "Kids for Kids," "Pennies for Bulbs," "Restoration," and "Salmon."

What to Do

  1. Help students read about and discuss the projects carried out by Sunnyland students.

  2. Stop after each project and have students discuss whether similar needs could be addressed in their community.

  3. Invite students to suggest human needs or community improvement projects that the class or school could do. You may want to list ideas on the board.
