Step 1. Questions

Ben Franklin had many inventions and discoveries, including the use of electricity. He was also a writer, printer, diplomat, and scientist!

Write a report about Ben Franklin and his discovery of electricity. You can do online research to learn more about him and his inventions. Here are some questions to guide your research:
  • Who was Ben Franklin?
  • What experiments did Franklin do with electricity?
  • What did Franklin learn about electricity?
  • How did this information change the world?
  • How would your life be different without electricity?
Are you ready? Begin by visiting the Web sites listed in Step 2. Look for answers to the questions above, and write down what you learn in the note-taking boxes.

You may use search engines to research other Web sites. Or research Ben Franklin and electricity at the library. When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your report.
