Write a descriptive essay about a type or body of water that is important to you. In order to do this, you will research the water that is all around us. Here are some questions to guide your research:
How much water is there on Earth?
How much of Earth's water is freshwater? How much is saltwater?
What are some different bodies of water?
Why is water important?
How can you describe water in an interesting way?

You may use search engines to research other Web sites. You can also research water at the library. When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your descriptive essay.
