Step 1. Questions
Flowers are very different from each other. Some flowers are tiny. Some are huge. Some flowers have bright colors. Others are white.
Write a paragraph about flowers. Begin by making observations about flowers. Here are some questions to help you:
What flower parts do you see?
How is the flower like other flowers you have seen?
How is the flower different?
What else do you know about this flower?
Are you ready? Start by visiting the Web sites listed in Step 2. Look for answers to the questions above. Write about what you learn in the boxes.
You may search other Web sites. Or learn about flowers from books at the library. When you are ready, go on to Steps 3 and 4.

Flowers come in many colors. Choose a color and click on it. Then click on a flower that you like. Observe the pictures closely. The map shows where the flower is found in California. Copy and paste the common name of your flower into the box below. List some words or sentences that describe the flower.
