Stopping Erosion (p. 184)

Step 1. Questions

Erosion changes the shape of the land. Wind blows across the land. Water flows across the land. Wind and water move soil and rock. The land changes.

Look at the picture on page 184. It shows soil that is eroding. Write a story about how to help stop the soil erosion. Here are some questions to think about:
  • What causes erosion?
  • What could stop a rock from eroding?
  • How can soil stay in place?
Are you ready? Look for answers to the questions. Visit the Web sites in Step 2. Write about what you learn in the boxes.
