Time of Day (p. 276)

Step 1. Questions

Where is the Sun right now? Is it high in the sky? Will it be in the same place tonight? How does the sky help us know what time it is?

Look at the picture on page 276 of your textbook. At what time of day was the picture taken? Write an answer to this question. Here are some questions to think about:
  • Where is the Sun in the morning?
  • Where is the Sun in the afternoon and at night?
  • When is the warmest time of day?
Are you ready? Look for answers to the questions. Visit the Web sites in Step 2. Write about what you learn in the boxes.
