Main Idea and Details (p. 36)

Step 1. Questions

There are many different flowers. They look different. They smell different. They even feel different. But flowers are alike in one important way. Flowers make seeds and fruits.

Write about a flower that you have seen. How did it look? How did it smell? How did it feel? First, look up information about flowers. Here are some questions to think about:
  • Where did you see the flower?
  • What is the name of the flower?
  • What did the flower look like?
Are you ready? Look for answers to the questions. Visit the Web sites in Step 2. Write about what you learn in the boxes.

With teacher supervision, you may search other Web sites. You can learn about flowers from books at a library, also. When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4.

Step 2. Research

Find answers for the questions in Step 1. Visit these Web sites. Take notes on this page.
