Fun with the Seasons (p. 264)

Step 1. Questions

What is summer like in the place where you live? What is the winter like? What activities do you do in the summer and in the winter? Perhaps you swim in the summer and ski in the winter.

Write a story that compares your winter and summer activities. Here are some questions to think about:
  • What is the local weather like in summer and in winter?
  • What activities do you like to do in summer and in winter?
  • What kind of clothing do you wear in summer and in winter?
Are you ready? Look for answers to the questions. Visit the Web sites in Step 2. Write about what you learn in the boxes.

With teacher supervision, you may search other Web sites. You also can learn about winter and summer from books at the library. When you are ready, go on to Steps 3 and 4.

Step 2. Research
