The Little Lambs (p. 88)

Step 1. Questions

Have you ever seen a playful puppy? Have you ever planted a tiny seed? If so, you know that they grow and change very quickly. All plants and animals grow and change.

Write a personal narrative about watching a plant or an animal grow and change. Before you write, you will need to research how plants and animals grow and change. Here are some questions to guide your research:
  • How does the plant or animal change as it grows?
  • How long does it take for the plant or animal to become fully grown?
  • Does the plant or animal look similar when it is young and when it is old?
Are you ready? Begin by visiting the Web sites listed in Step 2. Look for answers to the questions above. Write down what you learn in the boxes.

With teacher supervision, you may use search engines to find other Web sites. You also can research plant and animal life cycles at the library. When you are ready, follow steps 3 and 4 to write your personal narrative.

Step 2. Research

Research answers for the questions you were asked in Step 1. Visit these Web sites. Take notes about them on this page, too!
