Energy From the Sun (p. 161)

Step 1. Questions

What would your life be like without the Sun? How would it change the things you can and cannot do? Think about all the ways the Sun is important to you.

Write a personal narrative about how the Sun affects your life. To do so, you will research how energy from the Sun is used. Here are some questions to guide your research:
  • In what ways do people benefit from the Sun's energy?
  • Is the Sun's energy always beneficial?
  • What role does the Sun play in your activities?
  • How would your life be different without the Sun?
Are you ready? Begin by visiting the Web sites listed in Step 2. Look for answers to the questions above, and write down what you learned in the note-taking boxes.

You may use search engines to research other Web sites. You can also research the importance of the Sun at the library. When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your personal narrative.

Step 2. Research

Research answers for the questions you were asked in Step 1. Visit these Web sites. Take notes about them on this page, too!
