| All About Magnets |
| |
| | Magnets pull, or attract, some kinds of things. |
| | Poles are the places where a magnet's pull is strongest. Poles are at the ends of a bar magnet or a horseshoe magnet. |
| | A magnet has a North pole, or N pole. A magnet has a South pole, or S pole. |
| | The N pole of a magnet attracts the S pole of another magnet. Similarly, the S pole of a magnet attracts the N pole of another magnet. |
| | Poles that are the same repel, or push away, each other. |
| | The N pole of a magnet repels the N pole of another magnet. Similarly, the S pole of a magnet repels another S pole. |
| | Magnets have many uses. |
