Organisms respond to a(n) change in their habitat in one of three ways. Some adjust to a new habitat, or adapt. Others perish, or do not survive. Some organisms relocate, or find a new home. An organism that has very few of its kind still alive is endangered. An endangered organism is in danger of becoming extinct, meaning that there are no more of that type of organism alive.
