Most of Earth’s water can be found in oceans and seas. They cover about seventy percent of Earth’s surface. The atmosphere also contains water. The atmosphere is made up of gases that include oxygen. Here, water is in a gas state known as water vapor. How much water vapor there is in the atmosphere depends on the location. There is more water vapor over oceans and large bodies of water. There is less water vapor over deserts or other dry areas.
