As you walk, objects standing still seem to change their location. These objects are not moving, but by walking, you are changing your position. When you change position, you are in motion. The length, or distance between two points, lets you know how far you’ve walked. The speed, or how fast an object’s position changes, lets you know how fast you’re moving. This measurement increases as you move from walking to jogging. You can discover who moves faster by dividing the distance by time. If you’re standing still, you have zero speed. The cheetah is the fastest animal on land. This animal can race alongside a car traveling at the speed limit on an interstate highway
