Online Activity: Wondrous Wonders
Use the information at the site to fill in the chart below. In the first column, write two or three basic facts about the wonder, such as who built it, when it was built, and what happened to it. In the second column, write why the structure was significant. Why was it built? How is it important? Type your answers into the spaces provided.

At this Web site, you'll find information about seven additional wonders, not yet in existence when the first list was compiled. Offline Activity: Choosing the Eighth World Wonder
After reading about the modern wonders, choose one you find most worthy of being the eighth wonder of the world. Write two to three paragraphs about the structure, and why you chose it as the eighth wonder. Who built the wonder and how did they do it? Why is it significant? What impresses you most about it? Do you think the wonder will have the staying power of the Great Pyramids? Why or why not?
