To complete your project

You've played Bul with a partner, so you have an idea what the game is like. Now work with your group to design a new game. It can be a modern game or it can resemble a Mayan game, but it should reflect the culture of the time you choose.

First, decide on the rules of the game. Who will start? What is the object of the game? How will the winner be determined? Next, think about the elements you will need to play the game. What will the board look like? What will the playing pieces look like? How will the pieces move on the board? When you have decided what you want your game to be like, draw the game board on posterboard and use colored paper and paste to make the game pieces. Write down the rules for your game so other students will know how to play. Then invite the students in your class to play the game with you.
