Good citizens make our country a better place.

Good citizens work to help others.

Nathan Hale was in the army. He worked to make America free and gave his life for his country.

Frederick Douglass was a slave who ran away. He worked to free African Americans.

Clara Barton helped soldiers who were hurt. She began the Red Cross in America.

Eleanor Roosevelt helped poor people. She worked so that life would be better for everyone. Her husband was President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Good citizens are around us everyday.

You can be a good citizen, too.
