What Color is Your House? (p. 13)

Step 1. Questions

Everyone must work together to protect our environment. There are things you can do to help! Simple things like taking short showers and turning the faucet off while you brush your teeth can be done each day. You can recycle, too!

What can you do to make your house a "greener" house? Here are some questions to help you think about your family's role in conservation:
  • Do you turn out the lights when you aren't using them?
  • Do you turn up the thermostat or put on a blanket when it gets cold?
  • How old are your appliances? How efficient are they?
Are you ready? Look for answers to the questions. Visit the Web site in Step 2 to explore a "green" house. Describe Roofus' house and some things your family could do to make a difference in your own.

Step 2. Research

Visit the Web site and explore Roofus' green home. After you read about the ways Roofus keeps things "green", write a description of the house in your notes inside the boxes.
